We normally organize three social gatherings every year. Anyone interested is welcome to attend. All our events are announced in our newsletter and on this web site.

Iceland's National HoliDay
» WHEN: Sunday June 15th, 2008 at 13:00-17:00
» WHERE: Washington Park in Alameda

Back by popular demand, we are celebrating National Day with a picnic in the park! This time, we will meet at Washington Park, 740 Central Ave, Alameda, CA. Eat real Icelandic hot dogs with all the fixings (for a small donation). Face painting and games for the kids! For further information, check out our Summer 2008 newsletter. Also, on Tuesday, June 17th, come and enjoy dinner with us at the front patio room of Katy's Creek Restaurant, Walnut Creek. See the newsletter linked above.



Ţorrablót (PHOTOS)

In February or March every year, we celebrate Ţorrablót where we eat exotic foods from Iceland, drink Brennivín (we bring our own), and dance 'til dawn.

We are going to celebrate in the evening with a dinner at Icelander, Ari Georgsson's new restaurant in downtown Walnut Creek, Katy's Kreek.

Pub Night (PHOTOS)

This event is for anyone aged 21 to 101! We had so much fun at Katy's Kreek for our National Day Dinner that we decided to return for our annual Pub Night. Katy's Kreek is Icelander, Ari Georgsson's new restaurant in downtown Walnut Creek. While you are there, if you are interested in tasting some of Ari's delicious fare, he offers dishes like Icelandic Cod Fish and Chips, Graflax and Humar (Icelandic lobster in Season) as well as some delicious dishes like Cioppino, Filet Mignon and Grilled Wild Seabass. Call Katy's Kreek at 925-946-0949 for directions. There is plenty of parking right across the street. Come look for the Icelandic flags and party with the Icelanders!

In December we organize a Jólaball were we dance around the Christmas tree, chat and eat homemade goodies, and Santa drops by.
